upgrading a jailbroken 1.1.3 phones to the new 1.1.4

I am using unlocked iphone, ver 1.1.1.it is working fine.How to uplode the songs and date to my unlocked iphone?if i connected the itunes once again it will locked?what is the procedure for uplode the songs and pic to the unlocked iphone.Please hel me regarding this.

Here are my responses:
1. Do all features of an unlocked iPhone work in India?
[SG]: Yes. Except visual voicemail which is a network feature provided only by AT&T. Normal voicemail works well.
2. How much does it take to unlock an iphone safely in mumbai?
[SG]: Zero

[SG]: You can do it yourself. No need to go to a shop.
whats ziphone & jailbreak exactly?
[SG]: Ziphone is a user friendly software to activate, jailbreak & unlock a locked iPhone. iPhone's file system is locked by default. You cannot add any new software on it. Jailbreak is the process to "free" the file system so that you can install 3rd party software. Jailbreaking is necessary to unlock the iPhone.
3. If possible , should I buy an unlocked iphone from usa?
[SG]: I would not recommend that now since the unlock process is pretty simple. Why spend more money?
4. For how much do shops sell an unlocked iphone in india..mumbai?
[SG]: The cheapest I have found is 25k. This is around 7k more than the price of a brand new iPhone in the US.

iTunes should automatically take a backup of your phone in step 6 above. However, to be on a safer side, disable automatic sync (or make some other change to sync settings) and sync. iTunes should take a backup and then sync your phone.
Note that iTunes does not take a backup of your media. However, when you restore after upgrade, it will sync it again with the playlist and put the media back on the phone if its still available on your computer.
Its not possible that your phone isn't jailbroken and is unlocked. Jailbreak is a mandatory step for unlocking.
If you used anySim to unlock 1.0.2, ideally your baseband was not damaged and it is safe to upgrade without re-virginizing. However, to be on a safer side, you can virginize and then upgrade to the new version. Re-virginizing will only fix the problem (if any).
I can test your scenario but you will have to wait for some time. I will post the results here.
Your scenario has been tested and the iPhone was successfully upgraded to 1.1.4 and unlocked.
You can try the same if you want.
Download iBrickr (google it). It is a small utility to put 3rd party contents on your iPhone. Start iBrickr and connect your phone. It should detect your phone and show you 4 options.
Click on "applications" and follow the on screen instructions. You have to install "Installer" from the application list.
Once this is done, restart the phone and follow the steps above. Hope this helps.

1. Use the Installer application to install 3rd party apps. Although these apps are first tested and then made available to everyone, no one guarantees that they will not harm your iPhone. Use them at your own risk. I have used many apps from installer on my iPhone and they seem to be working fine.

If you are using ad-hoc wifi, the upgraded iPhone 1.1.3 may have problems in retaining the connection. To solve this, find a wifi router hotspot and connect to that. Subsequent connections to ad-hoc or regular hotspots will be retained.
I will suggest using a wifi router as ad-hoc wifi creates overhead on the host PC.

I have a wireless router and I'm planning to follow the above suggestions and upgrade my iphone to 1.1.3.
scared of basically 2 things
1. I don't know which application was used for unlocking the phone. Was it iunlock or anysim. Basically now I'm using the phone in India and with aircel.im not sure if both the softwares were used or not. Should I go ahead with the above process or not.
2. Secondly I'm using a wireless router at home. I don't know about this ad hoc thing. I jus usually connect to the net. There is a wpa key which I put wen I started the first time I used it on the iPhone. If I upgrade i will still be able to use this wifi no?

1/ if you do not remember the unlock process, you may try the above process as the virginizer will only repair the baseband.
2/ yes, as I mentioned above, you should be able to use this wifi setup.
There are several things that you can try:
1/ Try using a different USB port
2/ Update iTunes
3/ Type "services.msc" in Run dialog box and restart the Apple Mobile Device service

using ZIphone i just refurbished it, then used iTunes to install 1.0.2 again and used Ziphone to jailbreak/unlock/activate.
i might try doing the 1.1.3 upgrade again after soemtime :P
I have a Unlocked IPhone ver 1.1.12
However I have problems with Wifi. i travel a lot and as most Airports have free WiFi I cannot access it even though the WiFi signal icon is visible on the phone. The phone is used with a Turbosim, does this have anything to do with the Wifi?Also can I use the phone without the turbosim what are the pros and cons as regards to turbosim?

I do not think Turbosim has anything to do with the wifi. The reason you are not able to access wifi at airports might be that these places use high encryption which is not currently supported by the iPhone. These types of encryption are more secure and are needed to prevent eavesdropping at such critical public places.
The iPhone supports wifi networks with up to WPA2 encryption only.
I upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4 ten days ago and did everything from above steps. Everything works fine, until yesterday. I'm on home router, my iphone can find the network, but there no internet.
safari, mail, maps, you tube, itunes suddenly don't work:-(
I tried many things: reset network settings, restart the iphone, clear wep encryption code, try restoring to 1.1.4 again, but no solution
still I can find the wifi network, but no interent

I am confused, hough my iphone has 1.0.2 firmware, i has 04.04.05_G modem firmware which is the latest offered to 1.1.4
Offcourse bootloader is 3.9 i guess...Can i upgrade it to fix my sms roblem?
I am not sure if upgrading to 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 will fix this issue. However, it might, as there have been upgrades to the SMS client after 1.0.2.
Are you unable to receive all SMS or some messages?

Though i failed o fix the sms issue, i am successfully upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.1.3
It workd all fine till a month ago...i tried to upgrade o 1.1.3
then come the problem
i used Ziphone to unlock my phone
1. Not sure if the phone was unlocked using iunlocker or anysim?
2. Installer does not work, actually I managed to get it to work, but it seems impossible to upgrade it past version 1.7 (beta), which does not allow me to put in source updates. When I click on unistall, it says I have installer v3.11 installed, but it has no button to uninstall.
3. Ibrickr does not work for me, it actually never has. Everytime I try to install something, it just does a soft-boot and nothing is ever installed, or even shows up anywhere.
Please help me!

Unlocking an iPhone using Ziphone is very simple. Its just a single click step.
With Ziphone 3, the process is faster and better. It will also install some required apps on your iPhone as part of the unlocking process.
You should be able to do it yourself.
can you please tel me the steps that i have to fallow to upgrade from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4. I think my cell is jailbroken. can you please suggest me on this.

I upgraded sucessfully from version 1.1.3 to 1.1.4.
I wanted to share the info here. So here it goes.
Always use the shift restore to load the custom firmware downloaded from unlock.no website (find the link in the blog post)
Now use the latest version of ziphone (3.0).
If ur unlock process stops at a "rebooting in recovery mode", then don't panic. It did in mine. Just restore the firmware once again, this time follow the steps from ziphone's troubleshooting.txt to manually put the phone in recovery mode. Then run ziphone and use "Do it all".
It would get unlocked.
@setu - please put up the steps on manually enterting recovery mode in the post. (I can't coz I m typing all this from my phone)
I unlocked my 1.1.1 iphone a month or two back and it was working fine until i hit the update button. i finally got it working by downgrading the firmware to 1.0.2 using ibricker and is now working again. will I be able to use this method to upgrade to 1.1.3 or 1.1.4?

Are you using ad hoc wifi? Read the part after step 10. If it is the same problem you are facing, then you probably need a wifi router.

If you want to upgrade to 1.1.4 and you unlocked using anySim, just follow steps 5 - 10 above, downloading 1.1.4 firmware image in step 5.
If you want a router just for your iPhone for internet usage, any basic router from the reputed manufacturers like Netgear, linksys or D link will do.

As I understand, there is no need for you to repair the installer. The upgrade process does not need installer unless you need to follow steps 1 to 4 which you do not.
Just follow steps 5 - 10 and you should be all set.

I bought an iPhone V 1.0.2 (1C28), Modem Firmware 04.01.13_G in Delhi, it was already unlocked but I don't know which procedure was used to unlock it, but at that time installer Apps was not on my phone. The shopkeeper installed Installer after 10 days of purchasing.
Now I wanna upgrade my iPhone to 1.1.4, so help me. Also installer apps stopped working after I upgraded the same.So I can't even virginized my iPhone.
I am confused. Help me.

Yes, the latest version is 2.0.2. However, it has not yet been unlocked. The iphone-dev team will be coming up with an unlock for it soon. You can either wait for that or upgrade to 2.0.1 instead. The detailed steps are here - http://woikr.com/apple/how-to-upgrade-and-unloc...
The iphone-dev team is working to integrate it with WinPwn 2.5. It should be out soon after which you will be able to unlock 2.0.2 as well.

Whereas, with an unlock you can use your phone with any network.
i upgraded my iphone to 2.0.2 but its bad i wouldnt ever ask any1 to do that the phone hangs and if the phone is on silent it rings weird .what should i do even installer 4.0 dosent have many softwares now should i downgrade to 1,1.4 ..and how to do that
Yes, 2.0.2 is a bit slower when it comes to response time. Apple has acknowledged this issue with Contacts.app and is working on it. This should hopefully get resolved with the 2.1 update. In the meantime, in case you have OpenSSH installed, I would suggest you to turn it off using BossPrefs.
Regarding Installer, I recommend you to use Cydia instead.
